Course Description

Dr. Britton and Dr. Lindahl draw upon data from the VCE study to explore the various roles and various impacts that worldviews have before, during, and after meditation-related challenges.

  • Consider the role of worldviews as preparation for meditation-related challenges, as risk factors for the development of challenges, and as remedies for challenges when they arise.

  • Engage with both Buddhist and scientific worldviews and their impacts on meditation-related challenges.

  • Understand how intentionally navigating worldviews is an important aspect of managing meditation-related challenges.

Willoughby Britton, Ph.D.

Dr. Willoughby Britton is founder of Cheetah House and director of the Clinical and Affective Neuroscience Lab at Brown University.

Jared Lindahl, Ph.D.

Dr. Jared Lindahl has been leading the data collection, analysis, and writing of papers for the Varieties of Contemplative Experience study since 2014.
